Nature-Based Enterprises (NBEs) are emerging as a powerful segment of businesses in the transition toward a nature-positive economy. The term 'Nature-Based Enterprise' serves as an umbrella sector for a variety of businesses that operate across multiple sectors but share a set of common values around nature conservation and ecosystem restoration.

Horizon Nua looks forward to working with Business for Biodiversity Ireland towards accelerating the uptake of nature-positive concepts and ideas, and marks a milestone in the journey towards creating a nature-positive economy.

Conor worked with Horizon Nua as part of the Transition Year internship programme we run as part of the  NBS Eduworld project to encourage young people to think about careers working in or for nature.

Horizon Nua, as the leader of Work Package 4 (WP4) for the GoNaturePositive! Initiative, will play a pivotal role in both scaling up existing efforts and fostering Nature-Based Enterprises (NBEs). Through WP4, Horizon Nua will guide initiatives to amplify successful practices, expand their reach and cultivate a thriving NBE landscape. This will contribute significantly to the GoNaturePositive! Initiative's overarching goal of achieving a positive impact on nature.
