Strong showing from Nature-based Enterprises at EU Green Week

The 26th edition of EU Green Week, focused on investing in a nature-positive economy, took place on 3rd - 4th of June in the Charlemagne Building, Brussels. There was a strong showing from the five Nature-based Enterprises, funded by Invest4Nature and supported by Horizon Nua, to attend and participate in ReInvest in Nature, a startup-investor matchmaking event offering both a pitching competition and marketplace.

Reef Circular, a Danish Nature-based Enterprise focused on marine restoration, pitched and won in their category “Nature-based Risk Reduction”. Founder of Reef Circular, Shannon Hanson, thanked Invest4Nature and Horizon Nua for their support.

Recognition like this makes a real difference. It builds trust in our vision, helps us reach new partners and supporters, and brings us one step closer to creating healthier, more resilient oceans.

Fold Ecosystemics, a French Nature-based Enterprise delivering data-driven knowledge for close-to-nature forest management, was chosen to pitch under the category of “Nature Intelligence and Measurement”. A third Invest4Nature-backed enterprise was Natural Business Intelligence, chosen to pitch under the category of “Nature as a Financial Asset”. This Portuguese consultancy works at the intersection of ecology, EU environmental regulation and nature finance.

Attending EU Green Week 2026 was a genuinely valuable experience, both for the quality of the conversations and for the visibility it gave Radici and NBI at exactly the right moment.

The pitching competition was complemented by one-to-one pre-scheduled meetings (facilitated through the B2Match platform) and the marketplace, where investors and other attendees could approach the exhibition stands for Nature-based Enterprises and NbS projects. Among those exhibiting were NursiTree BV, another I4N-backed and HNUA-supported Nature-based Enterprise. The Netherlands-based business operates in urban greening, with its patented Urban Tree pit that allows for the relocation of mature trees in urban locations. The final exhibitor was MGGP Aero, a Polish remote sensing specialist business that has developed a digital platform known as COOLCITY. The COOLCITY Index is a free tool for EU cities that allows them to assess their blue-green infrastructure and adaptive potential. It is complemented by two commercial tools, COOLCITY View and COOLCITY Design.

The Invest4Nature project was represented at the exhibition stands on the afternoon of Day 1 of the EU Green Week event. Numerous attendees approached the exhibition stand, where they learned about the project and its mission to lay the groundwork for investment in Nature-based Solutions. Key project outputs were shared, including a prototype of the Invest4Nature Investor Community, which was showcased as one of the project's key results.
